The Sagra of Seitan 2010
Meet the Vegan ethics, culture and gastronomy.
Sunday June 6th, 2010. Circolo ricreativo di Pozzolatico, up on the hills Florence.
This year’s Sagra (a traditional food festival) will be a fine example for good coocking for whoever is vegan, but moreover, it will be an excellent chance for whoever is not vegan, to look into the world of being vegan and living a life rispecting all the living creatures.
In addition to the possibility of having lunch and supper, it will also be possible to purchase various products linked to thevegan lifestyle (clothes, shoes, books, cosmetics etc,.. )
Silvia .. and Luigi… from the ”La Fonte” restaurant will be teaching how to make home-made seitan.
The event is organized by ”Progetto Vivere Vegan” (= the ”Live Vegan Progect” )

Hi, it’s bill from Seed Kitchen. I love what you are doing and encourage you to keep up the good work. Good Luck, and thanks for making Seed Kitchen a stop on your vegan trip!
Thank you, Bill! I’ll be in Vancouver this weekend for nine days! I’m so excited. I’ll be in San Francisco a few days too before I leave for the East Coast. I really enjoyed Seed and returned twice after my first visit! I checked out Vegan Road Trip! Lots of videos

Hi Ly!
I’m sorry I’m just now replying. I haven’t WWOOFed yet. I will be WWOOFing from late August through December! We’ll be starting together. What kind of farm will you WWOOF on in Pennsylvania?

Feather,
This is such an interesting site. I’m so happy that I stumbled across it! I love that you are trying to spread your message across the world, and especially such a food-centric place like Paris, where traditional food ideas are deeply entrenched I can imagine.
Looking forward to reading more.
Feather,
I have a question about my son. He is a vegetarian and just came back from a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. He was very ill over there and is still having some issues with his stomach and can’t seem to gain his weight back. He has started to eat vegan and I am very concerned that he should wait until he is healthy again. He says it can be done and I wondered if you could give some insight to what or how he should be eating. I should mention that he doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on supplements. I think he should be eating more eggs and cheese and milk to try and gain his weight back and get healthy again. He is 6′ and only 135 lbs.
Thank you,
Vickie
Hi, Vickie. I hope all is well. The only recommendation I can give you, as an untrained professional in nutrition, is for your son to see his doctor or a registered dietician who specializes in vegan and vegetarian diets. From everything I know about food, it is possible for vegans to get everything they need from a plant-based diet except B-12. And for that we just drink and eat fortified foods or supplements. I hope everything is okay that your son has a speedy recovery.
